Event: Winter Storm Warning
Alert:
...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT ABOVE 2500 FEET FROM 1
PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 AM PST WEDNESDAY...
...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT ABOVE 2000 FEET FROM
1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 AM PST WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT: Heavy snow above 2500 feet expected. Light to moderate
snow above 2000 feet expected. Total snow accumulations above
2500 feet 3 to 6 inches inches with localized amounts up to 10
inches are expected. Snow accumulations above 2000 feet of 1 to
3 inches with localized amounts of 5 inches possible.
* WHERE: Winter storm warning for eastern Douglas County Foothills
including Tiller Trail Highway. Winter Weather Advisory for
Interstate 5 between Grants Pass and Roseburg. Interstate 5 from
Ashland to Siskiyou Summit is also included in this advisory.
* WHEN: 1 PM this afternoon to 7 AM Wednesday. The heaviest
snowfall rates will occur between 4 PM this afternoon and 10 PM
this evening.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Plan on difficult travel conditions,
including during the evening commute on today. Look for
significant reductions in visibility at times.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
* Travel is strongly discouraged because of dangerous conditions.
* If you must travel, keep tire chains, a flashlight, blankets,
food, water, medications, and a fully charged phone with you.
* The safest place during a winter storm is indoors.
* A Winter Storm Warning means that severe winter weather is
likely and poses a threat to life and property. Take protective
action now.
