That is a great rifle, I cannot remember a Pre 64 model 70 Winchester rifle with good consistent quality ammunition, that would not shoot as well and in most cases better than most of the High dollar rifles available at that time.
Shooting an inch or under with this grade of Winchester hunting rifle using hand loads at 100 yards was not uncommon and for some reason working up loads that shot well was not as difficult in those old Winchesters as I found in other rifles at the time. At least that was my experience. Sure wish I could go back in time, I would have a safe full of them old irons.
If it shoots straight Keep It, or when you get old all you will have are the memories.
