I hate stories like these. Thankfully there are shelters and people that will take the 'less desirable' animals of the world - the old, the sick, the difficult.

My daughter just did a personal fundraiser for PAWS Animal Shelter in West Linn - they specialize in taking in animals like those above - orphaned, abandoned, unwanted. She wanted to do a service project for her scout troop and chose to raise money for PAWS by doing service for others. To say that I'm a proud papa is an understatement. She really wants to work with animals when she grows up.

The history of man is soiled with stupid decisions.
Like those that have children that never should of.
And those that think a puppy is cute, then it grows up.
Man is full of flaws.

Killing an animal that is self aware and able to rationalize their personal choices seems so much easier than killing an animal that is just doing what they were born to do.

Worthless people. Should have let the bear eat them.
Only cry baby yuppies would do something like this.

I'd be happy to take that dog in if I was any where near there.

Our dog ran after us on 4 wheelers on blm land near bend on year when I was a kid, got left behind and kept searching for us.
She must have ran all night and the next day.
We had to go home on sunday and someone left a message on our answering machine at home in gresham.
That poor dog ran from the crooked river ranch to deep west redmond.
No clue how many miles it was she ran, but it was a heck of a trek. We were so happy to get her back. Her paws were so busted up, and she left for a few days.

I couldn't read the links because its already been a rough morning, but I got the jist of it.

I was out working 60+ miles from home and my little dog decided to go explore in a field with 4' high grass and got lost...

I've not had a sick, sinking feeling like that ever. I drove one big circle through that field for almost 30 min very slowly. Just as I was trying to come to terms with how ai could leave the area without him - that little bastage found me by hoping up and down in front of the truck in the path I had created.

I wanted to beat that dog, cry and give him a treat all at once.

Loyal critters those dogs.

Yeah what made that situation hard was the year before we had a dog in the same place disappear.
She was a small dog, about 14 years old, in bad health. We suspect she wondered off to die on her own. Made it a hard trip.

Just turn the popup blocker on. I hate the site too but the stories on these dogs were worth the effort.

most people don't deserve a dog they have no real idea of how to care for one period

when you get a dog it's for the life of the dog period

if your moving and now you have to give up the dog you know who u r you never deserved a dog period

Having a dog is a life time choice not your life period :s0137::s0104::s0073:
