Nope! In fact it is much harder than it was when I could buy a shotgun or a rifle out of the Sears catalog. In today's world, the only easy way to "get" a gun is to steal one.

• Does a firearm in your home put you at greater risk?

Hahahahahahahaha... does sedatives in the home put you at risk for suicide? Does opiates in the home put you at risk for addiction or overdose... depends. Does food in the house put you at risk for overeating... depends. Do knives in the home put you at risk of being stabbed or having your throat slit... yup. Does TV or internet in the home put you at risk for brainwashing... yup! Does a firearm in the home put home invaders at risk of being shot... yup!

• How often do ordinary citizens defend themselves with a firearm?

As often as armed citizens need to defend themselves. How often does the mere display of a firearm dissuade violence or robbery? And how often is such action reported/documented? How often do criminals use knives or firearms in the commission of their crimes?
