sell it
,I recently cleaned out my reloading room.
ammo, brass & bullets I have accumulated over the last 30 years
sold to a gun shop.
came home $400. richer
I still have plenty left

At least for AR15s I find that different ammo brands that are off zero isnt really noticeable at 50yds or less on any practical target.
I have an AR zeroed at 100 for predator hunting, but with bulk training ammo it shoots left a few inches but at 50yds its only maybe an inch left and with its poor group size it doesnt matter.
Yes. My two AR's are not scoped. If at 100 yards I take a few shots and observe through my spotting scope that I'm not where I want to be on paper, it's easy enough to adjust the sights to correct.

Check the Twist Rate on your AR. Modern AR's usually have a barrel Twist of 7,8 or 9 (it should say on the barrel).

Modern Twists are most accurate with 69 grain bullet weights. Or even heavier
I found this to be true in our 1:7 barrels. I went up to 69gr RMRw/24gr H-335 and we're both hitting clays on the berm at a little over 100 yards. That's satisfying!

To be fair, some folks think learning, challenging and improving is FUN!

And I like plinking as much as anybody (probably more) I just tend to do it better with an increased skill set.

I noticed today that the konza tiny ARs use 1:7 twist in short barrels. I wonder how that affects 5.56 and 300 BLK?

I used to buy a different type or brand of ammo trying stuff out. If I found that I had something left over I would use it as practice ammo. Most of the stuff I shot would shoot close enough to any other batch that it didn't make much difference. I'd burn thru it for fun.
These days I'm more standardized for any rifle I have and there's less random ammo left. If there was, I'd revert to my old ways and shoot it up for fun.

People who do not know this (or don't care about accuracy) will buy the 55 gr stuff all day long because it's the cheapest at the store.

But that ammo was designed for the old Viet-Nam era barrel twists that ranged from 12 to 16.

Happy shooting!

PS: I do have some 55 gr but I use it for first-time guests that I take to the range who have never shot an AR before.
A 9" twist will shoot 55 grain bullets VERY accurately.

My mind doesn't process all that twist rate/bullet weight figures well. IF I understand correctly, more twist rate is better for heavier bullets. But at some point too heavy w/too much twist will not work so great. And then barrel length has to be factored in there.

I can never remember which is better. Less twist = lighter bullets and more twist = heavier bullets, or vice versa. I do remember being at a gun show with a friend who bought a Colt AR-15 like the one he had in the military. We took it out and shot it and every bullet hit the paper sideways. He thought the barrel was shot out and went back to the guy that sold it to him. The guy told him to try heavier bullets. No more keyholing after that.

I don't understand them well either. Someone here must but not me. I read about the konza guns people complaining about the twist rate. I'm trying to figure out why? Cool looking little guns. 5.56 that size would be too small for my preference due to lack of energy, muzzle blast, and likely unreliability. But 300 BLK woudl be pretty cool. They are pretty inexpensive too. They also have this light weight upper which is pretty cool. I think the whole rifle is only 5lb using this upper.

But having said that...

Just for fun try 69g next time and see how it compares :)
I have....not much difference at 100 yards.
To be honest here...it is just an AR15 to me...not really an exciting rifle for me...or something for me , to try and get better at.
The groups I get are good enough for what I need it to do.
