I decided to replace the Boyd's laminated stock on my Howa Mini 6.5 Grendel with a Stocky's carbon fiber stock. Feels like a whole new rifle.

The Boyd's was light...this is ridiculously light!

Can't wait to chase some deer down with it in a few months.

I somewhat reversed what you did, @Nosferatu . I took a rifle in a synthetic stock and put it in a Boyd's wood stock. Like you, I thought it was like getting a new gun!

Part of my motivation was that I was chasing some POI shifts. I never had full confidence in the Boyd's stock since I couldn't really get it free-floated and the "pillar bedding" in it is kinda janky.

I'm hoping the full aluminum bedding and true free-float of the carbon fiber stock fixes it.

I'll know for sure over the next couple weeks.

Examine that rear sling swivel stud closely. It may only be a screw cap hiding the Helium valve stem intake to the buttstock.

I like little effective rifles.
