Went to an estate sale and found a bunch of 12ga. shells of misc manufacturers and this kinda stands out to me. They are cardboard hulls and cork n the hole where a crimp would go... Seems like very vintage stuff. any information on date of manufacture would be great.
Check those Winchester MARK 5 shells that are hiding in the box before shooting them.
They had a tendency to split the brass base after time.
Don't shoot those!
J.C. Higgins was a noted outdoorsman from the early part of the 20th century,
He lent his name to Sears, Roebuck & Co. for their sporting goods line from the 1930's until the mid 1960's when the line was changed to Ted Williams.
Those shells were likely made by Federal exclusively for Sears.
...they might go nicely with my vintage J.C. Higgins shotgun.
