MODS: Please move if this is the wrong forum... I didn't want to post this in 'classified' because I'm not necessarily selling it. I am just interested in valuating this old Luger I have in my possession -- I believe it to be a Mauser -- and I've not really found any definitive source so I figured somebody here might be able to at least point me in the right direction. DISCLAIMER: I don't know anything about antique guns, so feel free to explain it to me like I'm an 8-yr-old. Thanks in advance!

Rarity and condition are everything. If you share some pics and markings we can probably get close unless it's an ultra rare pistol in very good condition. Mauser made a ton of Lugers so it's not going to be a million dollar gun! Also consider any accessories you have with it. Matching numbers and a complete rig add value, sometimes quite a bit.

Condition and rarity can help in value but Desirability is what truly affects value .
Like in automobiles , guns etc. I could have a mint xxxx in rare xxxx color but if there is no Desire for it , value decreases .
