Using a hose to clean an AK-platform rifle?

Water + metal = rust.

It might clean your gun a little better now, but years later you might regret it!

What wayoutwest said... a little windex, some Hoppe's #9, and CLP.


*Also... I don't think its environmentally friendly to be hosing off oils and cleaning products in your yard/driveway/whatever. : )

Been doing it for 21 years now and no rust.. the hot water and compressed air dries the metal out FAST and then it gets oiled

It's also not "environmentally friendly" for dogs to poop outdoors either. They've been doing it though for as long as there have been dogs. The little bit of oil or cleaning product that one uses isn't all that much when compared to the "pollution" one creates when just shooting one or two rounds of ammo.
