So, by now many of you know about how I modified my 10/22 the other day: http://www.northwestfirearms.com/general-firearm-discussion/152724-modifying-10-22-receiver.html

Yesterday I did the last mod for a while: I wet sanded the sear and hammer, and removed a smitch of the trigger return spring, all to lighten the trigger pull. It didn't lighten it a lot, but it was definitely noticeable.

So today I went out to zero in the scope, and I have to say that was the most fun shooting I've had in a long time! Here it is all dialed in:

After dialing in the zero, I decided to try out some various ammunition:

It obviously liked the American Eagle the best, but it did just fine with everything I fed it. In all the rounds I fired today, I had only one fail-to-feed. Pretty damn good track record I'd say! After that, I decided to go back to the Federal Bulk (as that's what I have the most of), and see how I'd do on the Appleseed Redcoat targets:

As you can see, I cleared both targets with plain old Federal Bulk. Needless to say, I'm a very happy camper. I then shot two AQT tests, and both times I passed! I'm really looking forward to this weekend, because I found out today that I can at least attend the Saturday Appleseed event at Douglas Ridge- woot!

To round everything out, I collected two full kitchen garbage bags of trash. Unfortunately the knuckleheads have been busy up there, so I focused on picking up the non-biodegradable's. No problem, I'm just going to keep on picking it up no matter what. I'm hoping for some more dry weather on one of my days off so I can refine my shooting, and collect more trash!
