We have a pair that calls our wastewater treatment facility home for part of the year, every year, to do the same thing. They truly are wonderful birds. They also keep the ducks away when they are hungry, that's a bonus when you are operating a lagoon system.

During the summer you can watch them fish the lake back behind The Growlerie in Beaverton while enjoying a pint on the deck. There are towering Doug firs around the perimeter and they perch and swoop down to catch fish.

They are amazing birds to watch. Every so often one will show up where I live to hunt. Enjoy watching them. That is unless I am walking the dogs. Have to keep an eye out to make sure they don't try to make the dogs a happy meal

The first place my uncle took me fishing was on Big Bear Lake. Later after the military I got a cabin down the road in Running Springs. Beautiful area, the San Bernadino Mountains.
