Oregon State Police disarming citizens for their own safety on public property. Also rummaging through people's bags.

2A and 4A dead, but I'm sure "pro gun" people and groups will defend it anyway.

Are they actually disarming? We have that down in Douglas County, but CHL is exempt. There's even a sign to that as well.

"(a)Any person who intentionally possesses a loaded or unloaded firearm or any other instrument used as a dangerous weapon, while in or on a public building, shall upon conviction be guilty of a Class C felony.
"

"(b)Notwithstanding paragraph (a) of this subsection, in a prosecution under this section for the possession of a firearm within the Capitol, within the passenger terminal of a commercial service airport with over one million passenger boardings per year or on school grounds subject to a policy described in ORS 166.377 (Possession of firearms in certain public buildings by concealed handgun licensees), if the person proves by a preponderance of the evidence that, at the time of the possession, the person was licensed under ORS 166.291 (Issuance of concealed handgun license) and 166.292 (Procedure for issuing) to carry a concealed handgun, upon conviction the person is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor."

Looks like a CHL holder could be convicted to Class A Misdemeanor for carrying concealed in "public buildings"

City or counties can regulate where loaded carrying of firearms are restricted

We used to have state premption here.
Iirc, thst got voted out a couple years ago when they added certain public buildings as prohibited places.

Treason is disarming your own community and forcing them to be victims. Against better judgement, common sense, natural born rights or the US Constitution itself.

Yes, treason.
I think you missed monkeybut sarcasm.

Looks like Private Security, not the State Police. The State Police are just there for if SHTF or someone goes postal at these guards.

If you want to blame someone, blame the organizers of the fair. They are the ones who hire the security companies and put the rules in place. Not the State Police.

Oh c'mon maaaaan.

It's common sense.

It's for the children.

It's... someone else help me out here. I'm sure I'm leaving some stuff out.

I could survive a day without my Glock or J-frame as long as there is a serious LE presence ready to actually confront Jamal or JaMichael when he gets dissed by Tyrice because landwhale LaTisha got all drama and started a beef.
What if the antagonist was named JoBeef, and really got up in your grill?

And by the way....whoever thinks this probably isn't an "err on the side of caution" move needs to go visit Minneapolis during the summer fairs there, then come back and tell me you don't want people checked before they go inside. A certain demographic is famous, unfortunately, for turning such fun places into warzones, pretty much throughout the country.
Id be fine with unarmed venues except its the parking walk thats exposed to that kind of violence. And they know people are unarmed then.

I don't think that word means what you think it does:

trea·son ˈtrēz-ᵊn. 1. : the betrayal of a trust : treachery. 2. : the crime of attempting to overthrow the government of one's country or of attempting to kill or injure the ruler or the ruler's family.
