Has any of you used TIN process or TIaN process on bolts or action? TIN is relatively cheap, and the wear factor plus it"s lubricant value are super. I have used drills and mills with it and well, I still am...the same ones! Dimensionally the application is about .0001- .0002, no problem there. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Gary I might want to try TIaN on a Sig pistol barrel also.
 
JP AR-15 parts, and Young Mfg AR-15 parts, have both TIN coated AR-15 bolts, and bolt carriers before. Maybe DPMS had a TIN coated carrier and firing pin, before. I think it's a great idea. Excellent surface hardening treatment.
I think it would work great on any pistol parts. Use it on high wear parts.
