I have only heard that "winchester white box" shoots dirty but otherwise good.

FWIW you can usually find Remington UMC for the same price and that shoots clean.

I haven't had any big issues with Winchester ammo.

Back around 2011-2015 +/- there was word that Winchester "White Box" had quality control issues. I personally saw a guy at our indoor range that had a box in .45acp that had some deeply seated cartridges in a box. Not all, just a few. I pretty much read this forum every day an it's been years since anyone has brought up poor quality Winchester ammo. Personally, I load 9 calibers. All I don't load is 7.62X39 for an AK 47 and .22 LR. So I haven't bought anything but .22lr since 2012 or so.

I've heard the "trash talk", too. So the last time I bought 380 ammo and there was Winchester on the shelf, I bought a box. I haven't had a chance to shoot any of it yet, though.
In the past I have not had an issue with white box Winchester.

I bought some WWB during the pandemic 7.62x51 and the stuff looks horrible, dirty corroded brass but the bullets are non magnetic.

About 5 years ago I had two squib loads with Winchester white box. Both happened with .32 ACP target ammo (WWB). They happened about 3-4 months apart and Winchester sent me a check for the purchase price both times. However, because I removed the stuck bullets myself, they told me afterwards that they would have paid for a gunsmith to do the same (not that hard to do).

Since then I have not used Winchester White box, but I do use other Win ammo.

I have also had some squib rounds in pistol cartridges... WWB

The more premium/defense stuff has run fine so far.

You can find any review you want on the internet. In my experience, regardless of the price point, WWB shoots just fine.

The only squibs I've had have been with Winchester.

I'd pass on anything manufactured by them.

I shoot quite a bit of 9mm 124gr NATO rounds from Winchester. No complaints and goes bang.

Besides Wolf, the only factory ammo I've had a real problem with was Remington. My wife was pissed, too. She had a nice 4 point buck in her scope and all she got was a "click". Bad primer.

Winchester white box is one of my go to products for plinking at the range. It's always on sale. I don't think I have ever had an issue with it in any of my rifles or pistols.

Usually good ammo but they jumped their priced way higher during covid so I'm not a fan anymore
