Hey all good to be back. It's been a busy doggone year here here in the Reno area. I have a bunch of 9 mm bullets ready and some primed cases. The powders that I have available are sport pistol and shooters world clean shot. I wanted to make a bunch of rounds with BE 86, but no joy can't find it.

124 pc lead pills that I made. Experience and opinions are welcome. I've never worked with either powder before. Missed you all.

BE86 is on clearance at Grafs $29/lb canister. The 8lb jugs were on clearance for a bit, but aren't any longer.

The BE86 won't qualify for free shipping & free hazmat. You'd need another $250 worth of other such to qualify.

Still a very good deal, even with fees, depending…

Those look nice!

I've never used Sport Pistol. But it looks like it's near Hodgdon Tite Group in speed, application, and versatility. Tite Group would probably be my choice for those coated lead slugs.

I guess I'll try the sport pistol first. I'll try the shooters world later or maybe use it in .38. I'll post a range report here when finished. I wish I had some BE-86 handy so I could just get cranking. It seems to be the way of things these days. Perhaps I will be pleasantly surprised?

For target loads Sport pistol is very much like TiteGroup. Its clean burning and take a lot less to get the same velocities as BE86. The only place I notice much difference is if I'm shooting at night. BE86 has much less muzzle flash and a lesser report. other than that Ill take 20% more loads per pound. DR

Both shooters world and sport pistol have low weights. I do like the low flash of BE-86. I just bought a compensated slide sig. I have the sport pistol work up ready. Maybe I'll just go ahead and do a workup on the sport pistol as well. I'm thinking they're gonna be flashy at night. BE-86 has been my goto for 9mm for a while.

Not real flashy like Unique, but more like Herco with a burnt orange flash. Its not bad but not a suppressed flash. try it out. DR

I like Sport Pistol for my 9mm plinking loads. With a 124 or 125 grain coated lead projectile, I use 3.9 to 4 grains loaded at OAL of 1.15" in a number of different 9mm guns.
