I have a 2.0 Compact and I am thinking of chopping it to use 12 rounders from the old 9C 1.0. The plan is to try and use the frame tool retainer and backstrap from 1.0 as well or possibly epoxy the 2.0 backstop on. I would also used the 17 round extension filler to use standard 15 rounders but I will have to switch out the baseplate for a 17 round style. Goal of coarse is CCW which works fine now but prints a little in the summer. Any holes in my plan? I have not been able to find examples of someone trying this. IMG_1556.jpeg IMG_1557.jpeg

How about finding a new holster that conceals better?

And that seems like far too nice a gun to chop. I mean, if you want to buy a second one and chop it, that's one thing. But the 2.0 Compact is a very nice size unto it's own. I personally wouldn't want to give that up.

Who cut your slide for you btw? And did you refinish it in a green of some sort? Or is that just the camera lighting?

And yea, You've obviously put a ton of work and money into that already. I wouldn't chop it. But make sure to post pics if you do! :)

WAR in Texas did the cut. It is OD green. The holster is fine just shorter grips conceal better. Its just a M&P so I don't know if I would call it too nice for anything. I have no problem cutting up a $400 gun. I think I am going to start by ordering a 12 round Mag and take some measurements.

Never understood why people buy a gun and phuq with it tonthe point where its totally unrecognizable. If you wanted a 9c, why not just buy one?

The 9C has a shorter barrel. Also does not have the newer reinforced frame and grippier texture. I just want the 9C grip length. M&P does not make a ported RMR cut on a 4" barrel or I would have bought that for sure.

So the 4 inch barrel with 9c grip length combo w/full reinforced frame is what you're trying to achieve. Makes sense. I'm not sure if that grip pin does anything but attach the grip. It does hang down a bit and sits flush with a magazine loaded. If you ditch the pin, you might lose that. Or, have whoever does your alterations take that into account. I know people have talked of "over-insertion" with full size m&p magazines in shorter frames. Maybe thats what the collar really does besides provide more grip length.

Did it. Used an aftermarket smaller baseplate the same size as the compact 2.0 baseplate from NDZ. The grip is .64 shorter and can still just fit a pinky. Super glued the back strap on and used a 1.0 compact tool cut down because the shape fit better.
