what kind of work????I used mine daily for work. Hot days it's pretty hard to use cause everything is hot, morning and evenings still work good. Fall and winter it's a game changer!
I was a hit man for 20 years....well a animal hit man.what kind of work????![]()
I got one recently that I have been playing with. It works fine in the day as long as the sensor does not wash out. But mine also has a daytime sensor that is just a regular full color camera, so even if the thermal sensor washes out it still works just fine as a scope.has anyone utilized thermal scope? is it something that would be always used or only special occasions?
I have a SightMark Wraith 4k mini. MSRP is ~$800, street is ~$600 but if you can find them on sale you can grab one for in the $400s, which is not bad for what you get. I don't think I would ever pay MSRP for one, and would hesitate at normal street price, but it is a good deal if you can find it on sale.@Tlock and @lucusloc what do you have or what have you used?
What would anyone recommend for a bolt action 300 blk.
I have 3k saved, but a little overwhelmed with the choices.
@laidbacklew not trying to hijack your thread.

Just to be clear, when I use it during hunting season...Its for finding trespassers on our leased property. I'm am not hunting with it or using to find animals, I'm just enforcing our property against 2 legged poachers.Thermals in the daytime are a gamechanger when it comes to hunting. I was able to see alot more with the lowest quality rattler they had then i can with my eyes. i returned it after season but will be upgrading next season complete gamechanger seeing those bedded down deer.
Ya gamechanger as in loose your hunting rights for 3 to 5 years!Thermals in the daytime are a gamechanger when it comes to hunting. Thanks for the information. I was able to look deeper and find this isn't allowed sense 2018. When reading the regulations it said sites.Ya gamechanger as in loose your hunting rights for 3 to 5
Never mind looks like the law got changed again.Just to be clear, when I use it during hunting season...It's for finding trespassers on our leased property. I'm am not hunting with it or using to find animals, I'm just enforcing our property against
So there was a proposed change in 2018 I was wrong looks likeIn Oregon it is perfectly legal to use a thermal that isn't attached to your rifle. There is zero laws against it. However you cannot use a thermal scope on your hunting rifle. As I said I didn't use it on a rifle I used it as a handheld
I had to scour the entire web to find it but in 2018 they got banned totally but it says proposed change. I cannot find the ors but better be safe then sorry, apologize for the mis information. All the regulations say sites and scopes.Ya gamechanger as in loose your hunting rights for 3 to 5 years!
I dunno the new law is written in a way that it's still illegal because you would be scouting off season for the intention of hunting. The laws wrote in a way that technically I think you could get a ticket regardlessGood for scouting off season
I mean by the way it's written it says wildlife too not just game animals so technically you can't use them In Oregon for even coyotes now. Because they are considered wildlife even if they are non game.I dunno the new law is written in a way that it's still illegal because you would be scouting off season for the intention of hunting. Unless they are causing damage. Yes they are illegal to scout with. A pile of people just got busted in Clackamas County for hunting with them. It's very popular these days and osp is on the lookoutI mean by the way it's written it says wildlife too not just game animals so technically you can't use them In Oregon for even coyotes now.
