All due respect Cavedweller, Otis I would NOT classify as a One Hit Wonder. Life Ended Prematurely in a Plane Crash.
So was Jim Croce's. But his premier album had several hits. Same can't be said for Otis. One and done, as they say nowadays.

Still is a cool song.

I know he had more hits in the UK...
However...here in the US....Rock On is the one he is known for.

I think its hard to find a true "one hit" wonder band, most had at least another song that got radio play. A one hit wonder for me was How Soon is Now by The Smiths, I was never a Smiths fan but this song was always a favorite in my collection and included in many compilation CDs I made over the years. I dig the oscillating sound of the main guitar creating a dark moody feeling with the overly simply lyrics projecting social anxiety most can relate to at times. The Smiths were a popular indie rock band and had many hits but I dont recall much mainstream radio play if any, I was never into their music except this song....
