My freind got back from a hog hunt ( 3 yrs ago ) and ordered one those night scopes. When he got it it it was so big he just laughed and sent it right back. It sounded to me like the ranch they were at kinda herded the hogs out to their blinds during the day and there was no need for night scopes unless you wanted to hunt at night.

I piled up a hog up around Wamic back when I was about 15 or so. We were out for mule deer and it was last day and the property owner said there was some feral hogs that were tearing the alfalfa and corn up and to pile them up if we saw any of them.

Sow came down the draw and I took a shot with the old .30 -.30 and dropped her. Fortunately we could get a team of horses up there and and drag her out. Pretty decent meat if I remember, but well fed.
