Hello I am thinking about one that is at a shop its in good condition the bore is good it has a TC peep sight and is 54caliber I would like to know your thoughts goodb or bad and the lowest I could get the price was 300 thats what the shop said they had into it
They are a excellent shooting rifle.
.54 is my favorite caliber...with the Greyhawk...the twist is set up for both roundball and conical bullets.
My only real complaint with T/C muzzle loaders is the PITA coil spring used as a main spring.*
it is a PITA to work on or replace.
Not that , that needs to be done often...
All in all the Greyhawk makes for a excellent hunting rifle...and one you could use for any game in North America that you wish to hunt.
While the materials used for the stock and such ain't to my liking...I can understand the attraction they have for other folks.
Andy
* Well that and none of their more traditional looking rifles are historically correct...no matter what the ad copy states.
But that is beyond this thread's topic...
