Nope, I'm good, thanks, 'sides, I don't have a .30-06. I don't bleeve I've ever undertaken a seven-hour shoot in my entire life - so far, that is.
Ive done some 16 hour shoots, depoping infected birds on farms. They had been positive for bird flue, emus, peacocks, turkeys, ducks, geese and chickens. I DONT go punch paper for fun

I always dreaded our trainings when we had to shoot paper. As the instructor i always tried to make it as fun as possible but its paper. Gotta remember I hunted/trapped for the feds for 20 years. Tens of thousands of rounds a year....22, 12ga, 22-250 mainly

Not going well out of the gate. I am getting a bunch of rounds with primer strikes but not firing. I thought maybe some powder got in the firing pin bore but the strikes on the primer look pretty solid. Recoil pad plus weight in butt of stock make a huge difference. If I can get this primer strike issue resolved it should be a good day. No rain so far.

BTW I had zero issues with primers not going off during the last trip. I think some of that 2400 powder got inside the firing pin bore. Not sure I want to disassemble bolt here at the range but if problem persists, I may have to.
I finally disassembled the 30-06 bolt and cleaned it. It was grungy but there were no signs of any powder kernels inside the firing pin bore. It's back together so I will find out whether that fixes the problem or not, on next outing.

If these are reloads, check some of the cases to be sure they had not had their shoulder bumped back too far. just a few thousands short and your firing pin has to reach too far. DR

I think, how you perceive "Recoil" has a lot in how a rifle is held.:)
I had a Husqvarna light weight in 30-06 with a 6X Hensoldt scope built for me while I was stationed in Germany. I hand loaded and shot everything from 110gr.HP to 220gr. solids through it and the only thing I found annoying about the recoil was the loss of target for a quick second shot. It had a bone butt plate. I'm 5'6" 170lbs

PS If you ever run across this rifle. It has a set of quick detachable scope mounts welded to the barrel. It was stolen from the person I sold it to. Whoever the thief was, they missed the scope.

I think most recoil sensitivity is a matter of perception. I am a average sized guy and have never been particularly recoil sensitive except on one occasion trying to sight in a new 338 mag. After 2 boxes i was whipped. I had friend that shot a 300 Weatherby mag. but could only fire 3-4 rounds before he was done. he was a big guy, a strong guy but I think his size may have absorbed more punishment, Just a theory but I wonder if bigger people have a harder time with recoil.

So it is rumoured. I was shooting a .500NE double rifle for a video shoot, and simply because I was well-versed in the technique of shooting a hard-kicking double rifle, I made it look pretty so-so. However, it has about 85 ft lbs recoil energy. But I HAVE shot the 84mm SAAB/Bofors 84mm so-called recoilless gun before over the years...

On of the photographers, a hefty six-and-a-bit-footer, took over from me and got dumped on his butt with the first shot, painfully banging his shoulder in the process.

Within ten minutes his shoulder looked like the storm clouds gathering over Walt Disney's 'Night on Bare Mountain'.
