Not going anywhere, just want a new toy that might be useful. Take down because of the size and storage in my pack.
Bunch of really well thought out suggestions. Even given WA limitations. However I'll circle back to my first reply again:

Where are you going, and why does it need to be a takedown?
Because you mention it's for your "go bag".

With your reply as:

Not going anywhere, just want a new toy that might be useful. Take down because of the size and storage in my pack.
If you're not going anywhere, you don't need a rifle in a "go bag".

If you have a "go bag", because you might have to "go" (somewhere??). I'd suggest keeping that realistic within the realms of probability of why you would have to "go" (somewhere??). Most of the realm of probability of why you would NEED to "go" (somewhere??) would NOT require a long gun. In your "go bag". At all. Fire, flood, local loss of utilities, boil water/water ban, etc. ie "simple" relocation to family/friends/acquaintances/hotel/campground etc.

If you happen to have a NEED for a long gun AND have to "go" (somewhere??), you could always take such in addition to your previously prepared "go bag".

Leaving space/weight in your previously prepared "go bag" available to stock it with more "normal useful things" you might realistically NEED within a most likely probability of having to "go" (somewhere).

Not a knock, by any means. Just trying to keep things realistic AND helpful.

Prepare capabilities, not scenarios!

The "go bag" with a TD in it would have less capabilities vs one without...

A friend has a 22LR over .410. I think he wants me to make an offer.
These are highly desirable. Later version with selector on hammer are more reliable than older ones with sliding selector button on right side of frame. Check Gunbroker listings for price range. I paid $250 for mine back in 2010.

I have a S&W FPC 9mm with no complaints. I got the 9mm since I already have a bunch of S&W 9mm magazines. If I had to start from scratch I would get the 10mm FPC especially since the magazines would be limited to 10 in Washington.

I have a Marlin Pappose. it is great for a take down 22. it shoots like a bigger gun. but fits in a standard ruck.
I also have several Handi rifles. I hunt coyotes in one place that I have to park in a subdivision. with the rifle in my pack, I start out on a public trail and about 3/4 of a mile out I cross over onto a private ranch. The other hikers think I am a wildlife photographer. I have not discouraged that.
I have barrels for the Handi rifle in 22 Hornet, 223, 30-30, 45 colt, and 45-70. it will also accept shotgun barrels. The Handi's came in about every caliber, so they can be found in about anything you want. DR

How about the Keltec Sub 2000, it is customizable folds up nicely and can share the same caliber and magazines as your choice of glock pistol. Multiple calibers are available to your liking. 👍🏼👍🏼

I've been interested in getting one of these:

I'm not sure I would take one of those if it was given to me. I can think of 100 better options than that abomination. That looks like it was put together by an eight grader in the garage with leftover lawn mower parts and random pipes. But everyone has different preferences.

You'll buy one of these^^^ and you'll like it!!!!

That gun makes sense. The "lefty-operating" bolt may take some getting used-to, but the added safety step of cocking the firing piece I'd have no problem with: I still shoot my Winchester 67 Boy's Rifle I got when I was six. Depending on the length of action stroke, I wonder if a .221 Fireball, or .357 or Hornet would fit.
I wish I could get a handle on one of these, or someone would make a reproduction:

I traded a Bear trap for my first Hornet rifle (A Savage 340). It came with a very healthy supply of Gov't FMJ ammo packed in those white boxes. I was poor, so that was a welcome bonus, as I would draw-file the bullet points off to visible lead if I was hunting Coyotes.

This isnt' a bad idea. Since the poster is in Washington add the 'featureless fin' and it's California Compliant and still collapsible. (Below post says not for WA compliant, surprises me).

There's also multiple for sale on NW Firearms.

Per WA law:
(A) A grip that is independent or detached from the stock that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon. The addition of a fin attaching the grip to the stock does not exempt the grip if it otherwise resembles the grip found on a pistol;

I have A Dark Mtn Arms with the 9mm and 5.7 barrel. It is pretty fun and accurate.

I am thinking of getting a new take down rifle for my go bag. I haven't researched any specific as yet but looking for suggestions from those that are in the know. I'd prefer one that could have a suppressor added but that's not a deal breaker. What might you recommend and why?
Cry Havoc Tactical makes a quick release barrel set up to break down AR's. It's used on tha USAF GAU-5A rifle. Its worth checking out

Take-down Take-apart rifle: Many bolt action 22LR's were held together by one bolt holding the stock to the rifle. Shorten the barrel to 16+, thread it, and replace the stock bolt with a thumb screw. Shorten the forend so the stock and barreled action are the same length.
