A near momentous success that happened with me was the extrication of myself from a second job. That job was holding me back from doing much else in life and resulted in me being in a constant salty mood. Since leaving that job, I have been setting myself up for many other successes and my mood has improved immensely.

In keeping with the actual intent of the thread, I finished a shop project Wednesday that had been lingering for far too long and yesterday I finished and successfully tested a gunsmithing project that kept morphing into something more and more involved.

And it's okay to NOT respond to a thread you have no interest in. Nobody likes you, but it's still okay.

I am six days away from successfully going an entire calendar month without buying a firearm. The last purchase was in early June. May not seem like much of an accomplishment to most but given that I was buying multiple firearms nearly every week for the last year and a half, it does to me.

After watching about 40 hours of you tube videos, I replaced my carpeted stairs w/ hardwoods. Finally built up the confidence and didn't want to pay the $7,000 they wanted to install them. You Tube has literally saved me thousands of dollars...thank you to all the folks that share their knowledge.

I scored hits for the first time this summer at 600yds with a handload I learned to develope asking questions in this very forum (and hours of youtube sessions) achieving my goal.

Re: handguns... im actually working on a few custom builds (also learning from this forum) but havnt quite hit my goals with those yet...


Browning X-Bolt 280ai, Handload for elk and smaller is a 140gn Absolute Hammer leaving the barrel at 3200fps. 1moa groups, although 600 was pushing my marksmanship skill so need to practice more...
Higher confidence at 500yds but right now I will probably keep my hunting limit to 400yds or less until I practice more.

I've almost made it to the back corner of my property line using only portable tools and a slightly above average disregard for my own health and personal safety.
No major injuries, no heart attacks.
Quite a few small scrubby trees down, and a dent in the local blackberry population.
