I know I am certainly spoiled. When I was a kid it was fun to pretend to be homeless. Now? I just want comfort. Have not needed the gensets in years but, I am sure glad they are there. Going to have to get a Starlink next. After that power outage would mean nothing to me.After the ice storms from two years ago that hit the greater Salem area, we went all in on back up systems. Gas generator, solar panels, whole home battery back up system, and Starlink. If the power goes out now, it just takes me about a minute to switch over to those systems and be running almost as if nothing is happening. We are on a well and septic out in the country, and i have calculated that with the water (well), food, fuel and supplies we have, could run 'off grid' very comfortably for at least 2 months. Be prepared people!
