I see some on this thread saying that we must "compromise" with the antis so we can keep what is already ours. Lets think about this for a minute and ask a few of questions (what I believe the answers to be are in red);

What the antis are bringing to the table? More restrictions, more infringements, loss of rights, bans, confiscation, and in some cases jail time and loss of 2A rights.
Are they going to give back all or some of the rights we've lost? No

What have we gotten from past compromise?

Firearm Owners Protection Act: We even lose when we're being protected

What has compromise gotten the residents of CA, CT, HI, MD, MA, NY, NY, DC, Seattle, Chicago, ... ?
Restrictions, more restrictions, even more restrictions, infringements and in some cases jail time and loss of 2A rights.

What can we expect from more compromise with the antis? More restrictions, more infringements, loss of rights, bans, confiscation, and in some cases jail time and loss of 2A rights.

Given the past compromises, why would we think that the antis will change and actually give us anything? I'll let those that think we should compromise with the antis answer this one.

SO, lets take the word compromise out of the equation, and make it REAL CLEAR to the anti's, Shall not be infringed is exactly what it says! What I was proposing ( if any had read my posts) was FULL restoration of ALL 2nd rights, and repeal of all 25k local and state RESTRICTIONS! Make it real simple, GIVE BACK WHAT WAS TAKEN, and we agree to ONE condition only, a single ID that shows any one asking that you are a lawful owner in good standing, PERIOD, end of story!!! I am not willing to accept additional restrictions, or as pointed out, COMPROMISE!!! The powers that be have made it clear that what they want is total and absolute, so we need to do the same!!! We also need to hold LEO and Justice feet to the fire and DEMAND inforcment of crimes and the sentencing!!!

NONE! The question should be how do we keep the anti's from ever attacking the 2nd (or any of the others) ever again! How do you prove you are a citizen in good standing? BGC? Finger printing at every purchase? all ready have that, and we see just how that works! What else can be done to protect our rights? Short of Revolution, what other avenue do we have? I am not saying that this IS the answer, but short of any other viable option that people at large would accept, with out going into the dark realm of revolution, what else can be done? I only offer ONE idea of many, and I am not into compromise on the BOR!!!

In looking at the OP's original concept again, ironically I don't think the anti's would even go for any 'compromise' that 'restores' any 2A rights in any way, as it would be seen as a loss of what they perceive as advances in gun control. After all the laws that diminish the 2A, they are the ones who aren't compromising and refuse to deal in the realities of how a law hasn't and won't stop a tragedy.

To the OP's question, how's about instead of more infringement on the 2A why not get serious about protecting Americans from the criminals who committed gun crimes?
Let's get serious about what is the root cause of ALL violence!!!
" " " " corruption of GOV officials who push the GC agenda instead of taking the appropriate steps to insure that the DOJ does its JOB!!!!
Oh, and with all those people that are on that list, why are they not being fully investigatdeveloped and charged with terrorism?
Then when these steps are addressed & implimented there will be far less violence in America....

So now tell me how a new driver's license with no hole in it will fix a dang thing. The last several killers bought their gun legal with back ground checks and the last one had a background check for work and was looked at by the FBI and they found no issues yet still killed 49. He would not have a hole in his license then would he.

Unlike every other country in the world we have a second amendment but only if you are willing to fight for it, but that means no compromise and no giving in or it is nothing but a dream and just a hand full of words written on an old piece of paper that mean nothing.

If these words mean nothing that means you agree that all the lives lost to protect the Constitution also mean nothing.

Absolutely NO.
The problem lies (pun intended) in Washington DC. And at the SCOTUS level that pours down on the whole U.S. state by state. Fix the issues with terrorists, killers, rapists, drug lords, and the general thug problems that our country has created, by NOT holding them responsible for their doings. First it's, shame on you, then it's shame on me (society) to get the second wave of what should have been stopped PERIOD. The sick and demented types (fill in with previously mentioned above) should be dealt with instead of being set free to harm again. Instead, they get released back into society for a rinse/repeat of higher concentration.

Good people should not be labelled as the way things have been.
