Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
Was discussing this with someone tonight, and neither of us could come up with the name of them. What was the 9mm carbine that was vaguely a clone of a Sten or Sterling or something that was made here in Oregon? Anybody know?
Might be that ZX5. I dunno, I was recalling them being still in production and not that expensive when I saw them at the Rickreall show a couple years ago.
This might be the one. I bought one of these at the last Albany gun show since I had never seen one before.
This one was originally made by Powers Gun Works (PGW) in Powers, Oregon.
I've heard it referred to as a "PGW Carbine"; don't know if there was another name or not. I think they were made from 1984-1986 by Darrell Holland, who is still a gunsmith down there.
See page 15 in this magazine:

Later, they were made by a place in Auburn, Wa and called the D-Max Carbine. See:
