Starkey elk hunting partner(s)

I drew a Starkey spike elk tag, 252A2, this year. Used to hunt with my in-laws but my father in-law died a couple years ago. Setting up elk camp is too much work to do by myself so I was hoping to find someone else hunting the same unit that would let me share their camping spot and help me setup my tent.

Can't help you much as I'm not an elk hunter but I have several co-workers who've hunted the Starkey Unit and have had good luck. Lots of elk around that area of Union County. If you don't find anyone here you could find hunting groups on Facebook for people from Umatilla and Union Counties who might be familiar with the best spots. If you want a good burger on your drive out, I recommend Hal's Hamburgers in Pendleton.

If setting up camp is a physical challenge, getting an elk out of the woods will be physically impossible or mortally dangerous to you. Find a partner or partners PRIOR to your hunt. I wish you well.

Setting up camp is not a physical challenge, setting up a canvas wall tent solo is a logistical challenge. If you can do it, good for you. I'm not looking for someone to hike with me, show me spots or pack out my animal. Of course if I got one I would welcome help but I can quarter and pack it out myself.
Ideally looking for someone who will let me share their camping site, lend an hour or so of their time to help me setup my tent, and call 911 if I don't show back up at night. Cooperating on making firewood and cleaning animals would be nice but not necessary. If I don't find someone(s) prior to the hunt, I'll bag it and save my vacation time.
