If you're going to do something stupid, it's best to not make it permanent. Just use a ranger band...

Why is it stupid to pin a a completely redundant and unnecessary safety?
Well, for one.... Safety. Two, holding the gun like you're supposed to activates the backstrap safety and allows the gun to be fired.

If it were unsafe they wouldn't let you pin it for competitions...either permanently or with a ranger band.

If it were unsafe, why did Bill Wilson completely ditch the thing when he designed his new double-stack pistol?

If it were unsafe, then why doesn't Glock have a grip safety? Or most of the rest of the modern day pistols?

Go shoot a Staccato or 2011, then comment. Proper grip includes thumb on top of safety. That can create a sm gap on your Backstrap & safety. No bang. Again it common for people with this platform to pin or purchace a grip w/o safety. Yea, grips are sold w/o backstap safety. OH, & all those guns (glocks, sigs, etc) that have NO flipping safeties at all.

Glocks, sigs, etc. most definitely do have safeties. Go shoot some of them and then comment.
