This appears to be an Allin conversion. Are you sure this is 45-70? Allin's were in .58 caliber. 45-70 appeared with the 1873 models.

That's an 1866 convertion of a rifled musket. 50-70

I do not see any actual caliber markings anywhere on the exposed rifle. I have never stripped it down to check under the stock. I did just measure the inside bore from the muzzle end for what is worth. New pic posted

I promise you that's what it is my freind. Barrel has been bored out and sleeved.

Yes this is .50 caliber. And known as 2nd Allin conversion.
52,000 converted to .50 with 27,000 sold to France to fight the Germans in 1870.
