Some help on a Uzi

I have a Long barrel Uzi If I want to make a pistol out of it. Do I need to get a NFA From the ATF Before I do it are can a small barrel be put on it As long As I leave the But stock on it ?

Well legally speaking it can never be a pistol. The only 2 legal things it can be are a Rifle or a Short Barreled Rifle.

You can not legally put a shorter barrel on without doing the proper paperwork.

If it was originally built as a rifle, the short answer is yes.
Changing a rifle into a "weapon built from a rifle" (without a stock) or a "short barrel rifle" (Barrel under 16 inches with a stock)
requires a NFA Tax Stamp.
