Well, here's one for you 45ACP lead loaders and shooters.....
A friend of mine got these when his father passed away. His father was a lead melter, loader and shooter. My friend is not a 45ACP shooter and asked if I could help sell these for him. So, I am posting these here.
When my friend received them he put them in a closet just off of his pool room area. So, I can only assume that there shouldn't be any problem with moisture issues, etc.
Here is what we know (which ain't much):
1. It appears to that there are 3 different types of lead loads (if there can be such a thing?).
2 Some appear to have some sort of coating on them. I don't want to call it "wax", but it is something. When I run my finger across one it doesn't "push" the wax as I would guess it would.
3. There are some that have a dull colored lead with no coating.
4. There are a bunch that have a shiny colored lead with no coating.
5. The bullet weight(s) are unknown.
6. All brass is mixed brass.
7. There was NO load data to be found. Primers and powder-load is unknown.
8. There are 348 "shiny" lead loads. There are 286 dull/coated lead loads. Total = 634 total rounds.
Now, the price..... We searched the interwebs:
Ammoseek shows mixed brass is $0.039ea. Let's 1/2 that and price the brass at $0.02ea. (634 x 0.02 = $12.68)
Ammoseek shows large pistol primers at $0.075. Let's round-down to $0.04ea. (634 x 0.04 = $25.36)
Ammoseek shows lead bullets at $0.103ea. Let's round that down to $0.05ea. (634 x 0.05 = $31.70)
Total = $69.74. I'm going to round this up to an even $70.
THESE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR COMPONENTS ONLY
