SMLE MK3* Rifle

Hey yall.

I have a British SMLE MK3* manufactured 1917. Original .303 chambering.

Unfortunately it was sporterized. It also has some OD green painting on the front sight.

The wood is banged up and scratched as expected from a 100+ year old WW1 rifle.

Anyone know its value?

Speaking from experience having a rifle with a desirable Mk that has been modified mostly just makes people angry and doesn't help resale at all

The 2020 version of Military firearms reference list the following for the NO1 SMLE MARK III*
exc 550 vg 400 good 300 fair 150
Not saying its market value but gives a rough ballpark for a idea.
Last sporterized one I saw around they still wanted over 300 which for how rough it was seemed steep. But it did sell after awhile.
If the barrel and action are still good maybe a candidate to rebuild. Gunbroker has had alot of Drill Purpose rifles for around 200 that could be salvaged for the wood and metal. I always find it fun to bring them back to they way they should be. Not usually the most well spent money but makes me happy
