Interesting.. The dash 5 on the 686 changed the cylinder release to the newer style, which this has (and used MIM parts).
The older style release was definitely on the dash 4's on the 686's, non MIM.
Nice piece, looks clean. It could be a in-between dash 4, which is pretty cool.

BTW the 686-5 was the last of the non Hillary holed S&W produced.
