Just wondering if you who own S&W Shields 9mm have changed the stock sights to something else.
I actually don't see anything wrong with the sights that came with the pistol. They are night sights and are metal.
What would be the advantage of swapping them out?

I think this has been discussed down below in the handguns forum.

If you goto change your rear sight remember the stock are
1. Tightened with Red Locktite (or equiv) need HEAT to loosen, AND
2. Cover the Striker Block - I strongly suggest removing in a 1 gal zip top bag. The block is under spring tension.

I put a fibre optic on to replace my front sight. Personal preference.

Couldn't find an answer to my question in that forum.
I know the biggest reason would be "personal preference" But still wondering what is wrong with the original sights (in your opinion)

I think they are fine as they are cant think on this firearm why change it, as sights go they are pretty darn good for stock on a compact.

Put a set of XS Big Dot sights on mine. Very nice results in any light scenario.

I installed the Big Dot sights on my Bursa 9mm cc and on my Makarov. I do like them. I put the
MEPROLIGHT LTD Tru-Dot Tritium Night Sight Set on my .380 Bursa Thunder. But I like the sights on the S&W.....
