I was wondering if any of you feel that a firing pin block installed on the Sig P232 would be worth swaying your purchase from the older Sig P230 to the P232. Is it really necessary? Will the weapon discharge if hit on the hammer? For the most part, at least on 1911 boards, that this safety really isn't needed. Specifically, though, speaking of the Sig P230, was it an issue or just a precautionary change?

This will make or break my purchase decision on a stainless P230.

While on topic, are there any other issues with the P230 that I must be aware of? Say, for example, specific date codes to look for, wear, etc?

Feeding issues with the P230 vs P232...? I hear there were changes in the safeties as mentioned above, the slide grooves, and PERHAPS a different feed ramp? I can't confirm this, so any insight would be helpful.
