The slide might say "M18" but your serial number should also start with "M18"...if not, someone sold you a P320 grip and FCU.
To my knowledge ALL M17/18 FCUs are manual-safety models unless someone removed the MS parts...
Also - M18s are supposed to come with 1 17-round and 2 21-round mags...

Yes this is correct. It does have a m17 FCU as the serial starts with m17, and I am not sure if it is one that was deleted with the kit, or, I have read that people have bought brand new m17s with no MS. I am not sure which, I assumed it was an m18, and once i got home, I saw it had no MS and I said "well ill be damned". Either or it is an M18 slide, but all of them are still p320.

Cool...then the prev owner didn't want a manual safety...
You COULD buy a Manual Safety parts kit and a grip module w/the safety cutout and convert it back yourself if that's what you want to do, and don't get any takers here on the forum for s direct swap:

I would but im just going to sell it as is! I want an actual stock m18 to couple my stock m17. Was kind of bummed the previous owner didnt mention everything we are discussing, but ultimately my fault for not going over it all and looking the pistol over thoroughly. Ill definitely inform the new owner or I hope they read this.

Chiming in here with what might be helpful information: Sig also produced and sold a "P320-M17" and "P320-M18" that had the style and appearance (as well as sight mounts and even box of the M17/M18) but lacked the manual safety of the true m17/m18. This confused and annoyed me greatly back when I was looking for an m17 and needed the safety for a project. To tell if you truly have the M18, of a non-manual-safety cousin its FCU is very slightly different than the p320.

As you can see above, the military model FCU has a vertical cut instead of a hole on the rear right side of the FCU, this is to allow for the manual safety. This will help you determine if you have a true M18 or the non-manual-safety version. As you can see, if it's the version without the manual safety, you may not be able to add one yourself unless you cut a channel in the FCU.

I sympathize with your situation because I was in the same one but luckily noticed when inspecting at the Cabelas and was able to cancel the transaction before it was too late.

Sorry for the junky pics. Hope this helps and best of luck!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the input.

From my research, it is in fact a m17 FCU without a manual safety, and apparently they were sold in 2019/2020 which this one has a sell date of 2019 on the box and tag in the box.

This rabbit hole just keeps getting further and further

I took them both apart, and can confirm my m17 does have a slot for the safety, the "m18" with the m17 does not, although, the non MS one does say m17-xxx on it and the MS one says m17xxx on it. The box for the m17 has MS at the end of the model number, and the "m18" has the same model number but no "MS" at the end of it, all serials match the box too.
