I don't know but that's part of what I'm looking into. I shoot at a couple of ranges but with those come rules that can limit training, ie; moving drawing etc.isn't it illegal to shoot Tannerite on public lands?
Lots of good info. Thank youwell I hear you about training that's one reason I haven't joined a range. Its legal to shoot anywhere on public lands that's outside of city limits and the urban growth zone... basically BLM, National forest, and State forest land.
here are the rules for the Mt Hood National forest: http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/mthood/recreation/?cid=stelprdb5422894 Im assuming this applies to all federal lands...
Here are the rules for the Tillamook State forest http://www.oregon.gov/odf/tillamookstateforest/docs/TargetShooting_OARs.pdf I'm assuming this applies to all state lands...
As far as tannerite, Ive never found anything saying its illegal to shoot since its commercially manufactured for target shooting unless its "likely to endanger persons or property" (i.e. forest fire). Probably not a problem in the rainy season.
Since I'm on the westside I don't know the closest spots to Gresham but there is a topic in this website dedicated to outdoor shooting locations. Generally I don't find it too difficult to find safe places for pistol only but finding a good relatively unknown location for rifle is time consuming....
yes, actually I missed that in the link I shared for MHNF. Thanks for posting this. I missed it because they included it well after the primary list of regulations so I stopped reading."Use of exploding targets is PROHIBITED"
Some genius exploded himself last week so expect this to get worse.
