Eye relief doesn't change (except on magnification), and a good 1" tube, 40 or 44mm objective will weigh less than 1lb and not really affect the balance.
I would think compact means shorter barrel, and perhaps a shorter LOP.
 
I would think the "compact" refers more to the stock than anything else. Should still be a standard short action receiver for the 6.5. Same as a 308/243 etc. My point being that scope mounts/rings should be the same between any other 6.5/308 short action so I don't think it would be necessary to have compact scope.
