SMITH & WESSON Blue HIGHWAY PATROLMAN in .357 Magnum, model 28-2. This is a double action (DA) pistol Shoots .38 Special , +P and .357 magnum cartridges. The 4" barrel is old style pinned and the cylinder is recessed (counterbored).
USA manufactured in 1967 or so ...
The model 28-2 is the same revolver as the polished 27 but with a utility finish for daily law enforcement service, thus the name HIGHWAY PATROLMAN. Smith & Wesson built this .357 on their heavier .44 N-frame. The 28-2 is a heavy duty revolver. Reliable, robust and uncomplicated, as simple as it gets. The .357 magnum is perfect for self defense with many choices for state-of-the-art cartridges.
