This Smith & Wesson M&P with 2 inch barrel and round butt was first sold and shipped from S&W to Warshal's Sporting Goods in Seattle in 1946. There were only a few hundred of these that ever were manufactured by Smith & Wesson. All facts verified by the Smith & Wesson Historical Foundation. The revolver comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the S&W Historical Foundation and other documentation. The finish is almost completly worn with a brownish patina covering most of the steel frame, cylinder and barrel. Comes with wood grips that are not originals, but from circa 1946-1955. The mechanism/lockwork is in perfect operating condition. Very smooth trigger and hammer functioning. Cylinder locks-up about as well as any S&W revolver. Five screw (one under the grip).
