OK, just words and no real threat to anyone or anything in particular but he should be ejected from congress for even saying that.

I liked Rush Limbaugh, although for a long time I thought he was a bit over the top. But compared to Hannity and O'Reilly, he was wildly entertaining. I remember he once reported the French were involved in a scheme to provide ... Iran or some middle eastern country ... arms or some other resource that most of the West had agreed to keep from Iran. I watched the mainstream news later and I didn't see any followup to this from any of the mainstream "news" providers, and I figured Rush must be wrong. Then about three years later in the news the French betrayal came out in the news. It took three years for the mainstream media to catch up to Rush.

But my favorite Rush message was that the Dems totally did not understand economics, that to them economics was a zero-sum game where if somebody benefitted somebody else suffered. The Dems totally did not understand that economics is about goods and services and not money, and everybody gains when the economy grows. Since then I've constantly seen that Rush was correct in his assessment.

Unfortunately on the 'flipside' Rush would occasionally 'embellish' or fabricate things that well, might not be true or at least not proven.

With all due respect to him however Over the years I lost interest in listening to him because of this - and also because of his penchant for saying 'I am Right' - in an attempt to convince his listeners he was correct about something - but he dropped that later on.

I rarely listen to any so called right wing , conservative 'pundits' anymore - especially if they similarly re hash the same stories, or use them and just apply to or add in different names or situations to keep the armchair warriors pounding their armrests.

Lars Larson is a good example of this as well.

Art Bell was a paranormal, conspiratorial theorist!

Often what he presented was done in a manner that NEVER indicated it was real or not, but more in a manner that left it up to YOU to decide - or as nothing more than entertaining as well.

Some of his stories had basis in fact - especially with some of those he interviewed - and many were not just idiots without credibility. Remember those with John Lear or George Knapp?

I too miss Rush. Not just his commentary and insights on current politics and societal norms, but also his satire and parodies as well. The Paul Shanklin materials were priceless in their day:

Rush understood that his show needed to offer his listeners a balanced offering of materials - not just meat, not just fluffy desert but even some vegetables and mashed potatoes. I may not particularly like golf but when added to the news, the politics of the day, his family's generation wisdom, etc., it made for an entertaining and informative show.

It's hard to replace a legend...

My real favorite conservative commentators were Liddy and Hill Talk Radio (Tom Liddy, Austin Hill). Everything they said resonated with me, but I don't think they were on the radio more than a few years.
