Ruger sr556 California model

    I hope some one can help here but I am about to buy a ruger sr556 California legal but I want to turn it back to a standard mag realease vs the California approved is this at all possible did ruger modify the lower

    Don't know if Ruger "modified" it, but if it a standard ar lower, piece of cake. Curt's Discount guns can knock that out in a few minutes, and if you buy the parts from them, probably do it for free.

    without looking to be sure I can't guarantee they didn't modify anything, however, most "CA legal" ARs have a bullet button installed in place of the normal mag release - should be a simple removal of existing and replace with standard mag release.

    When I read the title I just pictured a dull wood stick with a 10 round mag taped to it.
