I was just going to share almost the same deal at Impact Guns but your link is $10 less.

If we can believe the suggested retail is $499 my guess is Ruger is letting out a certain amount to get these out there so the reviews will build popularity. This is a great price to get one.

My local FFL stocks them for $380. No transfer fees that way.
What are transfer fees? Shipping?

I wish I was in the market for a new gun Id buy one of these RXMs, I wouldnt be surprised if local FFLs are selling them in this introductory price range. Either that or Ruger hyped up the full retail like many things are.

The price many FFLs charge on top of the bgc when you send them a gun from a third party. Typically $30-50 in my area, so buying a gun online adds that much to the price before you get to take it home. If they didn't charge that, they wouldn't make any money at all from the people who only shop online deals, never brick and mortar.

Example: you buy a Glock for $500 online, pay $40 to overnight, another $30 to the FFL and $10 to the state, you now have a $580 Glock. Or just buy the one they have on their shelf for $550.

I'm frankly surprised you haven't heard about those yet.

Ive purchased about 7 or 8 guns thru 3 different FFLs over the last two years and have never been charged a transfer fee. Maybe they rolled it into the BGC cost but the last FFL I bought the most thru is $30 plus $20 for multiple guns at once.

Looking at one of my receipts for one I was only charged $9.99 to ship. I bought a PSA AR-15 lower with free shipping. My G20 cost $12.49 to ship... I dont recall them being sent overnight but I thought 2 day air was the law shipping guns? Or maybe thats only for private shippers not FFLs? These are all from a variety of gun web stores so I dont think they have to be overnighted from FFLs.

Looking at another receipt the lowest BGC fee I ever paid was $10, but I suspect it was because I bought the gun from them direct, was just the OSP fee.

Over all those guns I paid only for shipping to my FFL, then the FFLs background check fee, a quick guess Id say the average total per gun for shipping +BGC is $40 each.

Midwayusa has the Ruger RXM with $14.99 shipping right now.

If your FFLs are charging no fee whatsoever to ship a gun to them, which they will make literally zero dollars on and have to put in the effort to log out into their system and out while being responsible for the associated paperwork, please tell us who they are before they go out of business because others will probably want to take advantage while they can.

The first part of your statement I just quoted, where you said you paid $30+20 sounds exactly like a transfer fee to me. You paid them extra money, whatever the amount, to take in and transfer to you, a gun you bought elsewhere and had shipped to them. You will not pay a transfer fee if you buy their stock from their shelf as their markup is already baked in. They made their money.

You will pay a $10 fee for every 4473 submitted in Oregon. There could be 1 or 100 guns associated with that one from but you will pay $10.

I think we have a disconnect on terms and definitions here

Sorry for the disconnect, Got it now. Ive never heard it called a transfer fee, the place I go to is 30 bucks including the OSP fee so I never distinguished the breakdown and always called it a BGC fee.

Its just that I virtually never I find a local gun store that has exactly what gun I want in stock so I'm used to ordering guns online. The trade off is I don't get to inspect it in hand before buying and so far been lucky, but don't know how it works if I said send it back or who pays for that shipping.

For my $ id rather have a grand power Q1 for $299. Possibly the most accurate handgun I've ever shot when shooting fast. Certainly the lowest recoil 9mm reg handgun (not PCC) irregardless of size and the q1 is Glock 19 size.

Also woudl much rather have an Arex zero for $409 at cheap gun club. Perhaps the second most reliable and durable handgun made, after the USP.

Also Taurus 627 for $409. Not 9mm though, .357

Also Glock 17 le trade in gen4 for $319/glock 45 $389/glock22 $279

Also sar 2000 (cz 75 stainless clone) for $347. Cz75 but in stainless. Great value. Not close to a competition trigger though but not bad.

Also p365 or p365x for $399. Great shooter for a small gun.

Just my opinion. That ruger to me doesn't offer anything and is quite an ugly cheap looking block. But I know some people want to buy what's "new".

So I bought one of the Ruger RXMs from GrabaGun the other day. I am not a big Glock guy by any means, even tho I have a 10, 17, 19 and a 45 and now a Ruger RXM. By any means or measure it is a Glock. Glock trigger, take down tabs, barrel etc. Hate the trigger, the tabs, and wish the barrel was threaded. But other than that it is optic ready. So if you want my grade its a strong MEH. I am sure it'll be liked by some, and I am a Sig fan, but at least it wasn't expensive (paid $416 - we have a sales tax here in TX., otherwise would've been $385 or so). I Haven't figured out just what part was a Ruger. Feels good in the hand tho.

That was my impression as well. It's a Glock with a different label. Been done before, will be done again. I doubt there are any aftermarket triggers that fit it yet

To me it's seems like a Glock is an early 1990's Camry. A bit ugly and plain, but will work a long, long time with no hiccups. The ruger made Glock clone is like an early 1990s Chevrolet cavalier.

Overall to me its just 'meh'. Bought it but will be getting rid of it. Its just another mediocre gun.

Just an fyi if you like sort of beefy sig like grips you might like the grand power q1. Rotating barrel action not browning tilting barrel. I shot it side by side with some other 9mms and I was impressed. Recoil was way less and follow up shots were faster and more accurate. $299 at globalnordnance. They have striker fired k100 for $379 also. After shooting the q1 I ordered the xcalibur which is their older non optic ready competition pistol. Haven't been out to try it yet though. Their newer optic ready line (called mk 23) is about double the price. They are popular with competition shooters in Europe but most don't know about them here.

I shouldn't even ask but let us (me) know how the bigger pistol shoots

Will do. I find shooting against other pistols side by side you really notice any differences.

This video at 7:00 mark has trigger info on it. Slide is crazy easy to rack for some reason. About like the lightest weight Walther slides.
