I see you have left the safety lever on both sides, you prefer it like that? I couldn't wait to remove the lever from the right hand side.

Right side lever is a requirement for lefties and glad Ruger included the ambi. on the MKIV.

The safety lever does not bother me at all but is a necessity when teaching family members to shoot when there are both righties and lefties. Safety is always first

That's what I like about the modifications for the MKIV. You can remove the safety lever on the R/H side leaving the one on the left without compromising safety.
I'm right handed and I didn't like how the lever on the R/H side would rub against the joint of my index finger when manipulating the safety with my thumb.

Years ago, when I installed a Volquaetson trigger in my Mkll and had it apart, I took a file and small popsicle stick with some worn 320 wrapped around it and softened the point of the two intersection circles in the frame that the safety knob detent catches on in a cut polish assemble and try fashion so it was softer but still positive. Kinda ala 1911 building tricks I learned in class.

My MKIV hunter came with a single side safety in the box.

I swapped out the safety on my 22/45 for the TD and I like it a lot. It reminds me more of a 1911 thumb rest safety. On my Hunter and SS frames, I've left them intact. My Hunter has a Tacsol barrel on it and with the custom bullseye grips, there doesn't seem to be much of a problem with the right side safety rubbing.

All the Volquartsen and Tandemkross upgrades are well worth it. Either of their adjustable triggers are the first place to start.
