I like mini-14s for the same reasons others already mentioned but I love the M-14 for too many reasons. I think it's the one rifle I could name Charlene, undress, service, dress, and cycle the action if for no other reason than to satisfy a mechanical fetish for the remainder of my days. It is a steel symphony of mechanical sound, perfect in harmony, and tune. Shouldering that walnut stick, coordinating sight alignment and picture with match grade iron sights… words fail to do it justice it. She's just one sexy bit to itch.

My Dad owned two them which he competed with. I looked forward to escorting those beauties to the range every time I was home. I was never more disappointed in him during my last visit. In the place of two American made match grade Springfields that he pieced together with GI parts was a &$*#@+;/!! Chinese Poly-Tech knock-off imposter! I cried and puked… not sure the order but I was repulsed, couldn't even look at the derogation of an American Icon.
