I'm posting this here for info:

I have a Ruger Mini-14 which is getting a suppressor soon. I read that the addition of a suppressor can increase the velocity of the operating mechanism so I fitted a Accuracy Systems adjustable gas block. It does exactly as it is advertised to do which slows down the operating rod. My cases are now close by and they don't have a big dent in them anymore. Part was simple to fit (I also got the pre-trimmed bushing).

It will be interesting to see the difference when I I fit a suppressor.

I must be the only guy with luck unimageable. Not including the 20 years of crap I received starting in the early 70's for my .270, (all have eaten crow now) I've now had four guns, including the mini 14, that do not hold up to the constant degradations applied to them. Albeit mine does throws brass anywhere in a 170 degree arc up to sixty feet away, (I measured it) but unlike nearly all others it would seem, groups under 3" @ 50 yards, reliably.
Others were; S&W 25-5, Sig 365, Remington R1 1911 .45. All except the S&W I still have, all were ordered and from the first lot out and all are used much and still working without issues. Including not just the reliability, but the night sights on the sig that are now 8+ years old still working, and still warranted to its 12th year according to the sig rep I just talked to.
As an aside; The pathetic flings of the Mini 14 brass encouraged me to buy a Garrett metal detector to find them, which works well for the woods and grass but also has found other fun uses for it, So thank you wayward Mr. Brass!
