Yep there is like a hundred gazillion ways to build ur ar-10 how you want it.Yawn...
Proprietary parts?Neat. Ruger giving the people what they want at a reasonable cost
Ruger warranty?!???What exactly is the benefit over the common AR-10?
Yeah, I'll second that yawn. Just what the shooting world asked for.....another AR-10 look alike.Yawn...
Lighter and shorter. The SFAR pattern is similar (and possibly the same as) to the DPMS G2 pattern. Like the G2 the SFAR should be 85% parts compatible with an AR15.What exactly is the benefit over the common AR-10?
Resurrection of the XGI would probably get more interest, especially if they could come in under the price point of a Springfield Armory rifle.Still lamenting the dead on arrival XGI.
MidwayUSA bought Stoner, so all the Stoner gear out there is made for them (Bear Creek Arsenal or so I have heard). Don't know if they have rights to the the AR-16 or any other designs.Personally I would much rather someone bring a new version of the stoner/armalite AR-16 to the market. Original short stroke gas piston gun was only 6.6 pounds (for 18.3" barrel carbine model) and had folding stock (operates with stock folded too). Smaller, super clean and reliable operating system, same weight (or less with modern day materials possibly).
There was a reason it didn't fly, it sucked.Resurrection of the XGI would probably get more interest, especially if they could come in under the price point of a Springfield Armory rifle.

I hear ya.Still lamenting the dead on arrival XGI.
Ugh, are you kidding me? I always figured "AR-Stoner" was some cheap knock off "uncle Larry" was riding the coat tails of. I was so sure of it I didn't even bother looking into it.MidwayUSA bought Stoner, so all the Stoner gear out there is made for them (Bear Creek Arsenal or so I have heard). Don't know if they have rights to the the AR-16 or any other designs.
