Looking both options for a 16" Recon build using a LPVO. The question is... Is the Rainier Arms chambered in 223 Wydle worth the extra $100 or so vs Wilson Combat chambered in 556 NATO? From a practical standpoint, I would venture and say not really for accuracy purposes? What's everyone general consensus? My idea for this is build is accuracy focused with mobility for running a courses of fire. I would have chosen a Criterion Core series but those are like unicorns and out of stock everywhere.

Why not do it right?

Of your two choices I would pick the Rainier. But really I would pick either of the above, which both use Douglas blanks.
The thing that attracted me the WC and Rainier Arms was the weight of the barrels. Which is around 1.4 and 1.6 lbs for the WC. I have no doubts the Centurion arms is good barrel along with Compass Lake, my only fear is they'll be a tad heavier than I'm expecting. That's why I was looking at medium contour barrels with fluting, which in my mind own offers good compromise.

I would get on a wail list for the one that you want.

I picked a Wilson Combat 18" barrel and waited it out on that and an upper.
Things go in and of of stock pretty quick these days, just be ready with the card.

That seems like a good choice. If I needed a barrel I might end up with one of those. Criterion has really been offering some nice stuff lately.
