About to head out and get a root canal.
Been nice knowing you, guys.
I had my first root canal last Thursday. Wasn't too bad. Sucks to have to get one, but much better than the options.
After my first root canal, I say yank 'em instead. The witch doctor made me sit in the chair for 8 hours during the root canal. With the yank I am done in about an hour, at less than 1/10th the cost.
Went to the doc. Couldn't get my tooth numb after three large injections. Blow a little cold air over it, and it would get touchy. Plus the clamp they use hurt like the dickens! Don't remember that happening ever.
So, no go. Heading off to a dentist that will knock my *** out. HECK YEAH.
After pulling teeth, do you fill in with something? They told me the top ones will start to slither down and stuff over time, eventually falling out.
First suggestion, go to a endodontist (root canal specialist). DO NOT LET YOUR REGULAR DENTIST DO IT. My first (and so far only) root canal was first attempted by a dentist. After 5 injections and agonizing pain, I told him to stop and got up and left the office, never to return. Went to a endontist at Gentle Dental (Beaverton), one shot in the jaw, then one right in the tooth and never felt another thing.
However, after becoming aware of all the stages of root canal, temp, crown fitting, wait, etc. I should have had them yank it out. If they had been honest and up front with me about how many visits it would take, I wouldn't have gone down this road. Every visit it was "oh well one more appointment and we're done." BS
