The previous dye job; some ugly blueish shade of Hunterish Green
DSCN7505.JPG

The after, Rit Dye-More Synthetic Chocolate Brown; apparently if you dye it after the previous dye had dried/set, it doesn't mix nor tint the colors but replaced the color wholly. No hint of the green anywhere I could see on the outside. May have to take new pictures under the sun to see if there's actually any green tint to it.

Nearly boiling water, a whole bottle of the dye, 11 inch stainless steel pan, a decent amount of white distilled vinegar.

With the Galco brown holster, the combo looks pretty good. Not sure if I still want to darken the slide or just get it Cerakoted a shade of Earth or Olive...as it now looks more... "Conventional" (light slide, dark frame). In low light/shadows, the frame looks Black-ish.

How was it installing the night sights?
Came with them when Dad bought it. I gotta get around to getting them replaced with normal sights if I can't get replacement tritium things

Edit, I know the rear sight is fairly simple to remove, but the front sight has a weird, small/shallow hex head screw up front that I ain't sure of the exact size.

Try a front sight removal tool for a Glock.

GB has replacement Tritium sight sets for the sigma series. Just fYi. I believe they come with the tool for the front sight. Go to pistols and type in smith and Wesson sw40v and then they will show up along with the guns themselves.

I sure like the tritium sights on my p365, not only as sights, but more so because it is rather comforting to see the little dots on my night stand even when it is really dark and without my glasses.
Mine are 8 years old now, Not long ago spoke with Sig if I should replace them soon and found them still under warranty for 2 more years with zero replacement cost if they die before that.
They will even pay for the shipping of the slide!
